If you are anything like me, or maybe I’m just an oddity, but I can’t ever seem to get rice just right. It ends up a stodgy mess and half of it gets stuck on the bottom of the pan - a nightmare to wash up. I had literally tried every tip under the sun, but perfect rice still eluded me.

I have tried both microwave rice and boil in the bag rice, which is perfect every time, but is a rather expensive way of going about what should be a simple cooking task. Don’t even get me started on fried eggs! And I am a good cook!

Most of us nowadays have hectic lives, so convenience in the kitchen is a prayer answered. I myself will happily spend up to an hour in the kitchen, but any more than that and I’ll get all moody and I never have time to do the dishes! But I do have a dish washer called my other half!

So when I discovered this kitchen appliance that I could use to make perfect rice every time, I could go back to buying normal cheaper rice. Hooray! A cheaper food bill and no more complaining other half! Actually, they were very good and ate the stodgy rice anyway, most of the time!

I have to thank the inventor of this kitchen product, from the bottom of heart as rice is something we have two or three times a week, with a delicious curry or beef teriyaki stir fry. And now cooking perfect rice is something I never have to worry about again.

Yes of course, I am talking about a rice cooker – the Panasonic Consumer 3.3c Rice Cooker Steamer - SR-G06FG, to be specific. Although it does cost a little amount, around $25, it will not take long at all before I make savings on buying normal rice, instead of individual microwave or boil in the bag sachets.
