Fun with Kids in the Kitchen

April 22nd, 2008 by Administrator

Most of us know how much kids love messing about with food and helping in the kitchen, so we should encourage them to do this, with supervision you could even help them become the next Gordon Ramsay or Raymond Blanc, two very well known European chefs.

One of the most fun things to do with your children in the kitchen, is baking cookies. Everyone including the kids will love the result, as long as you keep an eye on what they put in them and you can even teach them about the importance of safety in the kitchen, while they are having fun and learning to cook.

Buying something like an ice-cream maker, could be just the thing to get your kids into the kitchen to start with, how many children do you know that will refuse the chance of ice-cream, even if they have to make it, to get it, but that’s half the fun. Clearing up may not be so much fun, but then you could teach them about that as well. Things in the kitchen take time to cook or create and clearing up is part of that process, we all have to learn that at some stage.

At Chumba Deals there is an endless supply of kitchen appliances that can be used with children and once they have learnt how to use them properly, they can even use them on their own, although personally I would recommend supervision at all times.

Some of the best chefs in the world started off cooking with their parents, even if what they first made was inedible, they have gone on to cook for some of the most important people in the world and have still not managed to poison any of them.

Although I’m not sure Heston Blumenthal has ever given the Prime Minister of Great Britain his famous egg and bacon ice-cream or the President of America his snail porridge. Even though they sound like dishes a five year would make, I have heard they taste alright.

If you want your kids to cook you something nice though, get them to put the right ingredients into the right kitchen appliance and have fun doing it.
