Cooking Fast Food at Home

Forget over fried chicken, chips that have be warmed one time too many, or the queues that you have to endure to buy this lack luster fried food. I’m not going to say don’t eat deep fried in this article, au contraire everyone deserves a treat and most people (and kids) love the taste of deep fried food. Just don’t do it everyday!
The secret to making great deep fried food is having a good recipe (or imagination) and a good deep fryer. Perhaps your kids aren’t fans of vegetables – you can beat your bottom dollar that they will like deep fried zucchini and cauliflower in batter. Then you can use the old well ‘you liked them in batter, so you can eat them without it’ trick.
Think about it, even when you get a Chinese takeaway, you get spring rolls, deep fried seaweed, and wontons that you could make at home! Okay so sometimes the point of getting a takeaway is so you don’t have to cook, but imagine the satisfaction of cooking something far superior than the takeaway (home cooked food always tastes better anyway) and the satisfied looks and tummies from the rest of your family.
Now, if you don’t have a deep fryer already, depending on the size of your brood, I would recommend the Hamilton Beach 35020 8-Cup Cool Touch Deep Fryer for the smaller family and the Hamilton Beach 35030 3-Liter Deep Fryer for the bigger broods, so that you can deep fry everything all at once, rather than doing it in batches.
